Throwback Thursday: Ben Hogan's One Iron Shot

For our first Throwback Thursday feature, we celebrate one of the greatest underdog stories of all time - Ben Hogan's One Iron shot on the 72nd hole of the 1950 U.S. Open.

In 1949 Ben Hogan had a near fatal car accident; his doctors said he might never walk again, let alone play golf competitively. Yet, against all odds, Hogan recovered and went on to win the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion in Philadelphia.

While we may not get to relive this great moment in golf history, fans can look forward to the 2013 U.S. Open which will be returning to Merion in Philadelphia June 10 through June 16.
